Catching up: or What We Did For Christmas and the New Year Happenings

So much has happened since my last post way back when in December. I've been very slack in keeping everyone up to date, but right now, Jake is so much fun, it's too hard to tear myself away from him. Here's a quick catch up as to what's new with The Smiths. Christmas: Our first with Jake (yes, we're still in our Year of Firsts). A Uruguayan tradition, we spent Christmas Eve at my mum and dad's with a supper feast and enjoyed staying up till midnight to open our pressies. Jake, of course, raked in the most gifts. Not that he'd know! The next day we went to my cousin, Daniela's house for our first (told you!) extended family Christmas. Lots of first, second and third cousins (hi George!) , wonderful food and great company. A very enjoyable Christmas Day. New Year: After a quiet NYE, and a few lazy summer days in Bondi, we very recently took a trip across the Tasman to visit family in New Zealand. Nana Rose spoilt Jake rotten with lots of love and attention and didn't he love it! He got to meet lots of cousins and visit with Great Granny too. Jake is her 30th great grandchild! Jake is now 5 months old and has managed to notch up a few more milestones. He can now hold his head up, recognises his own hands, has managed to roll over a couple of times and hearing him giggle out loud has got to be the sweetest sound in the world. Looking forward to many more milestones in the coming months. Hope you're all doing well and feel free to leave a comment with feedback. Love, Gabbie
