Welcome Zac!

To Daisy and Con, a son, Zac.

Dear Zac,

I wish for you, what I wish for Jake because you are the son of my dearest friend Daisy.

I wish you more happiness than your heart can ever hope to hold. I hope that that same heart's desires are fulfilled. I hope your dreams are sweet ones and that they all come true. I hope your future is full of sunshine and the days of rain are short lived and come sparingly, but the lessons they bring are learnt quickly and well.

Most of all, I hope you inherit all the wonderful qualities that has made your mum the most wonderful friend anyone could wish for.

I hope this is the start of a wonderful and lifelong friendship for you and Jake.

Lots of love, Gabbie

Haircut 100

Or maybe it just feels like that after many attempts to find "the" hairdresser for my, at times, uncontrollable curls. Finally, after 3 visits to the one salon, I got it right.....I think.
I've not had much luck with hairdressers. After going all over town looking for one, I finally decided to visit the one up the road. The last time I did that (geography vs style), it cost me over $300 and was virtually the same effect as a visit to a painful dentist - it put me off visiting another one for almost 2 years!!
But being a mum and on a much more stringent budget, I thought the little salon down the road would be nowhere near as expensive in Rose Bay as it was in Fairfield (HA! you say)....well, $30 later and I'm much more pleased with the results.
Oh, and the 3 visits was due to:
1. Hair done by young Irish girl who said she wasn't backpacking but going to be sticking around.
2. Six weeks later - young Irish girl gone. Senior stylist takes up the scissors and after instructions to stick to the same cut - does, but falls short and not to my liking.
3. Third time lucky - we do it her way and she gets it right! HURRAH!
Now if only the salon doesn't burn down, they go out of business or (God forbid) something horrible happen to the lovely lady who does my hair, I'm sticking with them for good.

ROCK AND ROLL!!!

ROCK N ROLL DUDES!!!
In my old life as a business manager at Haven Licensing, I initiated a deal with the very hip Oneteaspoon label. The deal is now done and as a result, Oneteaspoon have released their "cranky cat" Felix hoodie via their baby label, Destroyer. How rock and roll is our model?

For a good cause

For those of you with kiddies of your own, you know how photo happy we all can get. However, if you would like to have a professional have a go at capturing your little cherub in all their gorgeous glory, AND, want to feel good in the process, then head over to the Bonnie Babies website (www.bbf.org.au) and click the Pride of a Nation link. For a donation they will assign you a photographer and one of the pics taken will be featured in the 2007 Pride of a Nation coffee table book. Not only that, but you get to keep a pic (and depending on the photographer) and purchase others. Here's the ones we had done of Jake and I have to say, the Little Buddha image is my favourite. Enjoy!

Church on Time

Last Sunday, Jake had his Baptism into the Catholic Church at St Patricks in Bondi. Beloved family and friends were present and our little boy was on his best behaviour with not a single tear shed during the whole ceremony. In fact, he was fascinated with the church and oohed and aahed as we walked in. Here he is in his outfit.
